If this is true, why would the Rov reverse himself?? Wouldn't he have been able to save MR's "face" by postponing the elections as he agreed?
It's sooo bizarre, I would never have believed this could happen by itself. It's a real "la'yehudim" story.
Do I want to teach my children to Lie for Political Gain?
How can someone ask to be elected Rov while violating the Halacha themsleves?
